Ten kilometers from Merlo, a little picturesque and tourist village in the midwest of Argentina, nine hundred kilometers from Buenos Aires, the monastery of Santa Maria en la Santisima Trinidad is hidden at the foot of the massif of Los Comechingones, in an immense, wild and desert-like area. The dense foliage serves as a natural enclosure under the great expanse of the sky; the fauna is varied and the wind is strong. Since its foundation in 1992, it has been the object of much benevolence by the church of the diocese of San Luis. The fourth micro-climate of the world, the region attracts tourists, convalescents and the elderly who visit the monastery throughout the year and savor the peace of this Argentinian land with deep Christian roots where poverty and misery abound.
