At the request of Monseigneur Josef Homeyer, bishop of Hildesheim, the first monastic sisters looked over a long period of time in this diocese for a place suitable for solitary monastic life. As their search continued, it was in the diocese of Fulda, in the center of Germany, that an abandoned village of Wollstein was offered to them in 2000. Hidden in a solitary valley and surrounded by deep forests, this monastery in a Protestant region is a place of ardent prayer for the unity of all Jesus’ disciples. Monseigneur Algermissen consecrated the church in May of 2008 in the presence of many friends who participated in its construction.
