One hundred kilometers from Valparaiso, in the center of the long strip of Chili bathed in the west by the Pacific Ocean, the monastery of Santa Maria Reina del Paraiso is situated on the edge of the valley of Casablanca. In the east, the peaks of the Cordillère des Andes overhang the valley. This vast and expansive countryside, where the vineyards take on the shape of the undulating mountains, sings of the grandeur of the Creator. The first sisters arrived in 1999 at the request of Cardinal Francisco Javier Errazurriz, who was at the time the bishop of Valparaiso.
