Situated in the massif of Chartreuse, this monastery was restored by the Carthusians and offered to our monastic Family in 1973 in order to welcome in this place of prayer men and women who desire to make a retreat in silence and solitude. Surrounded by steep cliffs, the monastery of Notre-Dame du Buisson Ardent prompts one to turn one’s gaze towards heaven. The surroundings change with the seasons: long months of snow, the refreshing springtime verdure, an abundance of flowers blooming with brilliant colors, and, at the end of summer, the forest becomes a blazing fire of changing colors. Saint Bruno arrived here in the 11th century with brothers and left a deep impression on this region.
